Nebivolol HCL and Chlorthalidone Tablets belong to the group of medicines called 'beta-blockers' used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Nebivolol is also used to treat mild to moderate heart failure in patients aged 70 years and older in addition to other therapies. High blood pressure is a health condition in which the pressure in the blood vessels is high. The blood exerts elevated pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to hypertension. Heart failure occurs when the heart isn't able to pump sufficient blood to the remaining parts of the body. 

Chlorthalidone is primarily used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and oedema (a build-up of fluid in the body). Hypertension or high blood pressure is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the blood vessel (arteries wall) increases. The higher this blood pressure, the harder the heart has to pump. As a result, it leads to heart diseases, irregular heartbeat, and other complications. Oedema may occur in case of high blood pressure where fluids of the body get trapped in the tissues of the hands, arms, feet, ankles, and legs, leading to swelling. Together, Nebivolol HCL and Chlorthalidone Tablets are used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure).

I am diabetic. Can I take this medicine?

I have hyperthyroidism. Can I take this tablet?

If you have hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), you should monitor your condition regularly as Nebivolol might mask hyperthyroidism symptoms such as abnormally fast heart rate. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine. 

 Will this tablet affect my fertility?

It's unlikely that it affects fertility in men or women. However, some water pills like hydrochlorothiazide may lead to erectile dysfunction. There's not enough evidence to say for certain. For the best advice, consult your doctor.

Taking it may cause dehydration. So, to avoid dehydration, drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you feel extremely thirsty.
